Record (or Music) charts are used all around the world to indicate the success of individual music tracks, albums and music videos. Charts are often built from record company shipments or radio station airplay numbers, but for authenticity it is best to count actual retail sales.
Ranger is expert in the compilation of music charts from retail data using automated processes that interact with streaming, digital and physical retail systems to harvest sales results in real time, as they happen. These data are compiled into rankings of (typically) top 40 or top 100 albums and tracks for each territory.
This automated process is powered by what Ranger call the ‘Ultimate’ system. Ultimate is a cloud based system developed by Ranger allowing close collaboration with National trade associations and is constantly evolving to address new client requests and industry developments
